Friends of Mill Valley

Dear City Council Members:

As a preface to the comments and questions I’m about to pose, I need to clarify my intentions. I’m writing to again stress the need for an open and fair public process in Mill Valley.

With that in mind, there seems to be some unwritten rule that has emerged recently in Mill Valley politics that says we can only talk about “issues” but it’s somehow impolite or politically incorrect to question or criticize the statements, character or actions of any elected official or city employee. The “spin” is always that doing this constitutes an inappropriate “personal attack” and becomes legitimate grounds to dismiss the entire content of the message. This is just politically convenient nonsense.
